This has been seen happening in hospitals whereby in the intensive care unit (ICU) 8%-21% of the patients are allied of nosocomial infections. Research has shown that 95% of the ICU cases are associated with the presence of an indwelling urinary Catheter (Rello, 2007). This paper seek to look at catheter associated urinary tract infection in critically ill patient in intensive care unit and the multiple medications for treatment on catheter associated infections. Although catheter associated urinary tract infection (UTI) is a very common infections, its link with mortality remains contentious. On the other hand, intensive Care Units (ICUs) see a significant number of in-hospital infections, with a high commonness of multiresistant microorganisms.
