The concept of a country is readily understood by almost everybody. However, is a country the same thing as a nation? These concepts are often used interchangeably, but for many people around the world, this appears to be quite odd. Whereas countries are defined by governments, jurisdictional boundaries, flags, and so forth, nations are not so easily defined.
For example, in a country such as Canada, there would be many people who would define their nation as distinct from another nation that lives in the same country. Thus, it is very important to use these concepts carefully especially in a diverse country such as Canada.
