Criminal JusticeCriminology is defined as the study of crime that analyzes the underlying causes of criminal behavior and how to prevent it on the one hand, and the impacts of crime to both the criminal and society. A criminologist`s interest is to assess and establish exactly what goes on in the mind of a criminal that causes him to commit a crime. In this paper, I consider law and enforcement as my topic of interest in the study of criminal justice. I will therefore review three theoretical ideas discussed so far, and while relating them to law and enforcement, identify which school of thought makes the most sense to apply.Law enforcement refers to the process through which laws and statutes either of a local setting or of national level are upheld or implemented by qualified dedicated team. Law enforcement therefore defines the punishment administration to the criminals. Law enforcement is aimed at abating crime in society, as well as ensuring trial administration to criminals within the provisions of the home laws. Most governments have a broad system of law enforcement, and therefore, the police work hand in hand with their counterparts in the system in ensuring compliance with or enforcement of the law.First, let`s review the Marxist theory of criminology. Marxist school of thought applies political philosophy in making judgment and drawing inferences pertaining behavior change in society. Karl Marx bases societal behavior changes to social class concept. According to Karl Marx, power and wealth shapes society and are key factors that determine the structure of a society. Economic and political conflicts in society define its legal framework. He suggests that there is direct relationship between economic power and political powe...
