In America studies conducted in media matters for America reported that diversity of guests on cable news in prime time was inclined to whites only and in particular the white males. These results were not encouraging to the American public because the studies showed the lack of gender and ethnic diversity on cable news.Recently a case study was conducted on four different cable network programs. Four programs were examined on three different cable news networks during prime time. The gender and ethnicity of the guests who appeared on the programs was recorded. Approximately 2000 guest appearances were studied in total in the survey carried out. The results of the survey showed that the cable networks made very little effort to increase the diversity of guests who appeared in the programs.
