Description of assessment task and purpose
The assessment is an individual 2000-word literature review which demonstrates your learning on the module. The aim of the assessment is to measure your ability to carefully plan and write a literature review in formal/academic English using writing skills such as summarising, paraphrasing, giving direct quotations and referencing (both in-text citations and a separate list of references at the end of your literature review). Additionally, the assessment aims to assess your ability to present, organise, synthesise and critically evaluate arguments in carefully constructed paragraphs made up of grammatically sound sentences. Coherence and cohesion will also be assessed along with the ability to use appropriate vocabulary that reflects understanding of technical terminology used in the discipline.
