Explore an intercultural business communication scenario
(of your own choice) from multiple perspectives
First, briefly describe (in approx. 300 words) a scenario related to intercultural business communication to set the context for your analysis. If you feel your scenario is too long to be summarised within 300 words, try to at least provide a 300-word (or shorter) outline here and present it in fuller detail in an appendix. The scenario can be drawn from various sources, for example: a) a book; b) a real-life experience told by other people (or from the media); c) your own experience; d) the film we explored in class; e) a case study we discussed in class (except “Seo-heyon the consultant”).
Then, analyse this scenario (in approx. 1000 words) using a cultural dimensions approach.
Next, analyse this scenario (in approx. 1000 words) from non-essentialist perspectives (can be, but not limited to, the lenses of ‘small cultures’, ‘intersectionality’, ‘third space’ etc.).
Finally, discuss your overall understanding of the scenario (in approx. 700 words) by critically synthesising the insights from your multi-layered analyses.
