Four years ago, the United States was hit by Hurricane Sandy. This was thought to be the worst disaster ever but not until floods hit Louisiana in August 2016 (Holly & Rosa, 2016). The calamity claimed 13 lives and a lot of property. Other victims lost everything they owned. There was disruption of power. They lost homes; the stores ran out of fuel and food. Life became unbearable. It was estimated to cost more than $30 million to fix the mess.
The disaster was due to the heavy rains experienced in the area. In a week, the area received 6900,000,000,000 gallons of rain.
