It is also about comparing or dealing with at least 2 cultures or cultural areas. Diversity encompasses vital and interconnected aspects of human identity including age, religion, socio-economic status, ability, gender, citizenship, ethnicity, sexual orientation, nationality and race (Fine, 2011). Ethnocentrism refers to the inclination of viewing one’s own culture as being better or greater than another culture and applying one’s own cultural values to judge the beliefs and behaviours of people from different cultures.
