The purpose of each is different of which students must be aware at the time of writing.

Expository Essays

It is the informative and simple type of essay in which step by step evaluation of the situation is provided. The writer has to offer description of the main concern by making use of facts and figures, examples and statistics. This type of essay is focused towards different purposes such as recognizing effect and causes of relationships, comparing and contrasting pieces of work.  Expository essay is not written in first person because it is written on the basis of facts and personal feelings are not involved in describing the theme or event.

Narrative Essays

Narrative essay is the form of essay writing in which explains a real life experience in the form of story. This type of essay is considered as challenging by students because they have to think creative and write about themselves just like a story.In narrative essay writing, the story must be made vivid so that attention of the reader can be grabbed and maintained till end. The student must consider the fact that narrative essays are always written in first person which is also the main reason behind engaging the reader. Narrative essays must be written in the manner that it draws complete picture of the story in their imagination and only creative words and phrases are required to be used. A narrative essay that is well-drafted would build towards making a personal statement and drawing effective conclusions.

Persuasive Essays

The main theme of persuasive essay is “Convince Me”. The purpose of this type of essay is to convince the reader about the perception of writer on a specific situation. Logics and facts are used in it so that writer can create impressive and interesting case. It also involves use of expert opinion, examples and reasoning in order to support a statement or point. While writing persuasive essay, it is important for the writer to have strong communicational skills so that all sides of the argument can be communicated clearly.

Descriptive Essays

Descriptive essay is known as the cousin of narrative essay and follows the theme of painting a picture through words. Under this essay, the writer has to explain about a place, person, objective or memory that is of specific important in relation to the topic.  The descriptive essay concentrates towards communicating a deeper meaning by providing proper description. The writer has to use sensory details and colorful words for describing the idea in compelling manner. The descriptive essay that demands to the emotions of a reader with a consequence that is highly suggestive is considered as best.
