Upon the successful completion of this module, the student should be able to:
• Demonstrate knowledge and critical understanding of innovation, creativity and enterprising mindset, recognising the values and the contribution creativity makes to the common good.
• Conceive, articulate and apply creative thinking within a work-based or academic context to develop novel solutions and/or value creation.
Based on the learning and development, which has been established from in class lecture and online activities on Moodle Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), students are expected to complete a written assignment in the form of a Report, which addresses the task outlined below:
Identify an innovation that could be implemented in a health and social care context in the UK to improve the experiences of patients/service users and/or health and social care professionals. For example, a product, service, campaign, or advocacy for a cause in health and social care.
Further guidance:
• Identify the issue that this innovation could address using evidence, e.g. what is the gap in the health and social care sector that this innovation could resolve.
• How could this innovation be implemented, by whom, and where (health and social care work-based context).
• What is a realistic timeline for designing this innovation. Page 3 of 11
• How this innovation could be created, following any relevant regulations and considering the value it can add.
• Who can benefit from this innovation and how it contributes to the common good.
• How can technology be used to contribute to the creation or dissemination of this innovation.
• Conclude the report with an elevated pitch of your innovative idea to a relevant health and social care stakeholder that could play key role for implementing it in practice
