On completion of the module, you should be able to:
LO1: Understanding of the general environment of international business.
LO2: Understanding of the theory underlying international business operations.
LO3: Critically evaluate the nature, role and influences of globalisation from the perspective of organisation and industry.
LO4: Undertake applied research to analyse firm, industry and foreign market entry modes.
This module will be assessed by one 1000 words individual essay (Assessment 1) and one 3,000-word individual written report (Assessment 2). These applied oriented assessments will assess the ability of an individual student that they have acquired from this unit. It will also assess the skill of conducting basic research to prepare report to be submitted towards the board of executives
You are to assume that you have recently been employed by one of the top 30 MNEs (listed in Appendix 6) which is planning for an overseas expansion. As a part of your role, you have been assigned to analyse the company and foreign market entry strategies. If you like to work on a different MNE, you need to get approval from your tutor.
In both parts of your assessments, you should present evidence-based analysis not just description.
