A crime can be termed as any behaviour or act that deviates from the overly accepted way of behaving, which is enshrined in the constitution. The constitution provides the basis on which to classify behaviors or acts as criminal activities. It is for these reasons that it is of common knowledge that certain acts can be considered as being crimes in certain countries and not in other countries. Crimes are more often determined by the community affected. For example, abortion and prostitution is considered as crimes by some states and at the same time, other states have legalized such acts. It is therefore prudent to say that there exists a discrepancy on what is crime depending on where one comes from. This forms the basis of educating people on what governs their country, which do not necessarily apply in other countries. Despite this, there are some laws that are universally accepted, which cuts across the whole globe.
