Proposal aims:
- To develop a clinical audit with support rationale, to be implemented during the Transition to Practice Placement.
- To undertake a literature review that provides a rationale for the clinical audit.
Your assignment has two parts:
- Part 1 – The rationale for the clinical audit (750 words), 60% of the assignment); and
- Part 2 – The proposal (40% of the assignment)
- The rationale (Part 1)should address the following questions:
- Introduce the clinical guideline[1] that you are auditing against.
- What is the question that you are answering through your clinical audit and why is the question important?
- Identify five articles that best support the guideline that you are auditing against. Remember to ensure that they are of the highest level of evidence and critically review them in terms of their contribution to practice.
- Provide a conclusion and link with the clinical audit proposal.
- The Clinical Audit Proposal (Part 2) should be completed as if you were developing this for the organisation that you are working within during your transition placement. If you are undertaking your audit in a non-TWO Waikato site, please use the same form, but note the name of the organisation.

- Written in third person.
- Size 12 font, plain font (Verdana, Calibri, Times New Roman).
- 1.5 line spacing, pages numbered on bottom right corner.
- No headings, written in formal essay format.
- Appropriate referencing throughout and use in-text citation in APA version 7. Non-academic sources include Wikipedia, Mayo Clinic, course notes etc – these should NOT form ANY of your sources.
- The reference list: Presented on a separate page; APA 7th Ed; Alphabetical, hanging indent; The Reference List is not included in the word count; Endnote preferred.
- Cover Sheet - not required. Name and ID number in ‘header’ is preferred on the top right-hand corner.
- Word Count: 750 words +/- 10% (Going above or below 10% of word count may incur a grade penalty).
