Actions for general development from my tutor:
I may appear to have been harsh in my comments on your work, but I am hoping that they are helpful. My main concern is that you appear to be too reliant on material you have drawn from a wide range of sources, and not sufficiently focused on what you were actually tasked with doing. This was not an assignment on the academic debate about management and leadership, but one which, like many real HR projects, had a specific purpose and a specific readership. There was material in the Study Guide that could have helped you to do a clear and simple job in this assignment, but you chose to overlook it.
In any academic exercise, including the more practically-oriented exercises that comprise the assignments you are being asked to write, the most important element is a clear and cogent argument. This must take precedence over anything else. Then, when you have a clear and cogent argument, you can use external sources of information to provide support for that argument. But those sources must fit around your case, and should not be allowed to swamp your work.
In future assignments, please focus on making sure that you have proven that you have learnt from the material in the Study Guide, and can present clear and cogent arguments. Also make sure that any quotations or concepts you bring in from external sources actually do support your case. It is the quality of your research that I will be acknowledging, not the quantity.
