Assignment 1: Individual Consultancy Report – (2500 words) Portfolio Case
The assignment will take the form of a consultancy report of 2500 words. You will be expected to think critically and laterally about the ways in which businesses plan and execute a project in turbulent environments. In your report, you must develop and support your ideas using theories and frameworks from the leadership and strategy body of knowledge (academic journals and books to underpin your arguments and discussions). In this report, you MUST select one specific type of business based on any industry of your choosing (or your own existing workplace) to focus your answers on.

Task 1: For this task you must identify and assess the potential types of conflict and conflict resolution and negotiation strategies in producing effective project outcomes. You are also required to analyse the impact of collaborative working on the management of projects.
Task 2: Critically analyse the role of leaders in managing change during project execution and support the points you make using at least 2 appropriate change models to evaluate and justify the sort of strategic leadership that would best support a business during a change. Assess how an HRM strategy would be used to identify where changes need to be made and consider the different internal and external factors.
Task 3: Illustrate a leadership initiative to alleviate complexities during project planning and execution in terms of the negative and positive influences and include robust examples as to how complexity can influence the direction of a business. Link the findings identified in all the Tasks to your conclusions and recommendations for your chosen business industry
