Overview:
All students completing MRKT4214 should be able to apply marketing and research related skills and knowledge by reading, reviewing and presenting on marketing issues identified in the case studies introduced weekly in the course. This is an applied skill, ‘hands on’ assessment where students will demonstrate that have identified, read and understood a current issue in the business field of digital marketing, and to demonstrate individual critical thinking abilities.
The purpose of the case analysis and presentation is to identify and examine marketing issues, within the content of the digital information and communication technologies, issues that can become the main business challenge or opportunity for a company or industry.
Instructions:
This assessment consists of two parts and requires student to prepare and deliver one written case analysis, and one short, informal presentation for each case study. The analysis and presentation are based on the answers to questions for each case study.
All students prepare, on weekly basis, the analysis (answers to questions in case study), and upload it on D2l, as per course schedule and assessment requirements. All students will prepare the analysis for all case studies introduced during the course.
The assessment is valued at 30% of the overall course grade, and is graded as per below:
1) Case Analysis: well-written answers and analysis of the marketing issues identified (15%, 3 cases x 5%)
2) Case Presentation: brief presentation of the main points presented in the case analysis (15%, 3 cases x 5%)
Case Analysis and Presentation: the answers to case study questions and the analysis are prepared and submitted BEFORE the classroom presentation, as per course schedule.
• Deadline: presentation conducted during lab time, during weeks 2 to 13, as scheduled.
• Deadline: answers submitted to Discussions on D2L BEFORE the classroom presentation
• 10% of the final course mark for each case study (30% in total for 3 cases). and includes written case analysis and informal presentation.
