Overview: This project aims to empower students in designing an effective and legally defensible OHS, Attendance and Disability Management or wellbeing Policy/Plan. Through this project, students will have the opportunity to explore change management in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies, or benchmark practices of various companies, or highlight current practices, or conduct audits for improvement, etc.
In the pre-established groups, students will amalgamate information from the course with their independent research to devise an Occupational health or Attendance and Disability Management or wellbeing Policy/Plan. Following this, groups will present their projects to their classmates.
Scenarios for building the project:[1]
Scenario one: You have the option to select a company, either in Qatar or on an international scale, and gather data through various means such as interviews, internal documents, participation in processes, or capturing photographs as participant. Subsequently, you will analyze this data and present your findings.
Scenario two: Drawing upon your individual research, your group will be tasked with crafting a comprehensive Attendance and Disability Management Policy/Plan tailored for a specific company.
[1] The grade will be proportional to the scenario adopted.
Expectations include:
- 1. A presentation and completed policy for your company
- 2. An action plan to communicate the policy to your staff (consider only 1 location, with senior management, middle management, and staff). Timelines and communication techniques must be included.
- 3. The report should also include a minimum of three (3) challenges, and actionable solutions.
