In this short project, you will explore a specific topic related to the impact of technology on
society using secondary sources.
❖ The goal is to write a research paper of approximately 1300 words (minimum 1000 words)
that addresses the following:
❖ develop a specific research question that relates to the broader topic of impact of
technology on society and explain why it is an important topic to consider (100 words)
❖ engage with a minimum of five sources in sociological literature that relate to the
specific topic (500 words)
❖ based on this existing research, provide an analysis that responds directly to your
question (400 words).

Select a specific area of interest within the broad theme of technology and society.
❖ Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
❖ Social media and identity formation
❖ Digital divide and access to technology
❖ Impact of technology on communication patterns
❖ Technology and privacy concerns
❖ E-learning and its effects on education
❖ The gig economy and labor relations
