Formatting and Structure Guidelines for Presentation Assignment
- The presentations should be around 4 to 10 minutes (based on the number of group members)
- Each of the group member should present a part of the topic.
- Each group member should present at least 2.5 minutes and no more than 3.5 minutes.
- If you do not have a group and are going to present by yourself, you need to prepare a four-minute presentation.
- If you want to get a good grade, make sure that you are facing the audience and not reading from the slides/notes when you are presenting. Reading from your phones or reading from your notes will significantly reduce your chance of getting a good grade.
- You may prepare PowerPoints slides (2 or 3 slides per student will be enough), handouts, or you may use the board when you are presenting. It is up to you. I am fine with any of the strategies you may use, as long as you are clearly explaining your topic.
- Please make sure to use reliable, peer-reviewed academic sources when you are preparing your presentation. You need to provide the list of these sources at the end of your presentation.
- After you present your topic, there will be a question-and-answer session. I will usually ask some general questions such as “what was the most interesting/important/difficult thing about this topic for you?” I may also ask you to clarify some points regarding your topic.
