Before you start work on this assignment, please ensure that you have read the Assessment Guidance specific to this module and are familiar with the advice in Social Sciences Assessment Information. Note that failure to comply with relevant guidance could result in the loss of marks or other penalties.
There are two parts to this TMA. Part 1 is a summary and explanation of the psychological issues raised by one of two provided pieces of self-help advice (Excerpt 1 and Excerpt 2). Part 2 is a critical evaluation of the piece of self-help advice summarised in Part 1, drawing primarily on the psychological theories and research covered in Block 5. You must complete both Part 1 and Part 2, using the same excerpt as the basis for each. This TMA contributes 20% towards your overall continuous assessment score (OCAS). Part 1 carries 30% of the marks for the TMA and Part 2 carries 70% of the marks.
Part 1: Summary
Summarise one of the two self-help excerpts that you have been provided with and explain how the advice it gives links to the psychology you have learned about in Block 5 of DD210.

Part 2: Critical evaluation
Critically evaluate the self-help excerpt that you summarised in Part 1.
